Why Viking? I chose this name for my business as a way to honor my parents who long ago owned and operated the Viking Motel in Schofield, Wisconsin, and taught me the importance of hard work and doing right by people. I’ve created Viking Legal to serve my fellow Wisconsin residents with the same integrity.
About Kathy
I grew up in the Central Wisconsin community of Schofield. My military career began in college and spanned nearly a quarter century, serving in the Army Reserve and Wisconsin National Guard, with several years on active duty as a leader in the Army’s community-based health care initiative. My work with severely wounded soldiers inspired me to attend law school to represent and advocate for those who need health care and benefits resulting from their military service.
Coupled with my military service, I served over 20 years in Wisconsin state government. I worked in the legislature, often assisting constituents with unraveling bureaucratic red-tape, and identifying legislative solutions when necessary. I also served on the executive leadership team at the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs for nearly a decade, working within government and with external entities in service to the Veterans of Wisconsin.
